College of Marin is moving away from placing students in math and English courses based only on a standardized test. For fall 2017, 333 students were placed using both the Accuplacer test and multiple measures (MMAP). The majority of these students (56%) were placed higher by MMAP, 35% placed at the same level by both methods, and 9% were placed lower by MMAP.
